![]() ![]() ![]() Instead of by particle excelerator, the meta humans here seem to have been created via gene defect and I enjoyed seeing this and some new meta-powers for the trio to fight.įrom some of the reviews/comments I’ve seen on Birds of Prey I’ve seen that this version of Harley Quinn wasn’t well recieved but I actually really liked her. I know little about Gotham and the Batman world- having only this, Batwoman and a few episodes of Gotham to go off but I always like how much darker and grittier the stories tend to be.īirds of Prey also gave me a different perspective on the meta-human world than I am used to seeing in The Flash. We got to see the trio take on much darker cases like murder and kidnapping and I enjoyed the darker shift in tone from the present day arrowverse shows. I think in other arrowvsese shows like Supergirl and Legends they have much happier tones and are also visually happy and bright but Birds of Prey takes place in the dark streets of Gotham were some really dark stuff takes place. I liked how dark Birds of Prey and the Gotham setting was- both visually and tonally. I’d say Huntress was my favourite out of the three and I’m really excited to see her in the upcoming crossover and see how Scott portrays the character after all this time. ![]() I loved the main trio and how they developed both individually and as a team, all 3 had great backstories and were all very interesting to watch. I actually really liked Birds of Prey, I was worried with the series being over 15 years old that it wouldn’t hold up to the current arrowverse shows but it was an enjoyable watch with some great characters. All the while she is planning her revenge, Harley also acts as Helena’s therapist, unknowlingly getting closer and closer to her biggest enemy without even knowing it. Little do the trio know however that an evil is rising within Gotham and the Joker’s scorned lover Harley Quinn (Mia Sara) is using her criminal contacts to build up an army and seek revenge for what Batman did to her Mr J. Together the trio detect and fight crime and keep the streets of Gotham safe was metas and humans alike.Īssisting the trio in their crime fighting needs are Alfred (Ian Abercrombie), Batman’s loyal manservant who has transferred his services from father to daughter as well as Detective Reese (Shemar Moore) an honest detecive who assists Helena in her cases and begins to form a bond with her- if only she’d stick around long enough to tell him her real name. Joining the pair is Dinah Redmond (Rachel Skarsten), the daughter of the legendary Black Canary, who is only beginning to understand the true extent of her powers. Guiding her along the way is Oracle, who was was once Batman’s former protégé Batgirl but an attack by the Joker left her paralysed, leading her to protect the city in a new way by using her computer and hacking skills. Helena is the daughter of both Batman and Catwoman and she uses her half-meta human abilities to fight crime and protect New Gotham. I’ve actually wanted to watch Birds of Prey for a while- I loved Rachel Skarsten in Reign and am absolutely loving her so far in Batwoman– and with the series being only 13 episodes I figured I mayaswell catch up before the crossover.īirds of Prey takes audiences to a Gotham that has been long abandoned by Batman and in his place Oracle/Barbara Gordon (Dina Meyer) and Huntress/Helena Kyle (Ashley Scott) have stepped in as the protectors of Gotham. Now I’ve not read any of the comics and admit to having a somewhat limited knowledge of the DC world but I figured I could at least watch Birds of Prey, especially since it was recently announced that Ashley Scott would be reprising her role as Huntress. Countless guest stars from all across the arrowverse have confirmed their return and more recently- stars from other DC shows. The upcoming Arrowverse crossover– Crisis on Infinite Earths– is promising to be a massive success and every day more and more news seems to be released about it. ![]()
